COVID-19 Information

Our first priority is, & has always been, upholding our commitment to maintain a safe, healthy school environment for your children. We understand & share the continued concern about COVID-19 & its effects on everyone. We want to provide you the information you need to make the best decision for you & your love ones

WHY WE FEEL THE NEED TO STAY OPEN DURING THIS TIME.

Prep N' Play is following the guidance and directives from the state of Texas and local governments and the local health department as we make a variety of decisions about  whether to remain open. Many of the children enrolled in our school have family members playing essential roles in this crisis, including parents who work as nurses, doctors, grocery store clerks and more. Our school serves parents who work to support their families. We do not make operating decisions lightly. While we are independently owned and operated, we are doing our best to make the best choices for the families and faculty by keeping the health and safety of everyone top of mind. In addition to Prep N' Play's own rigorous health and safety protocols, we're reinforcing CDC-recommended preventative measures, which we describe below. If a teacher or student do test positive for Covid-19, an alert will be sent out immediately. The school will be closed for 10 days of quarantine and sanitizing.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CHILD OR A FAMILY MEMEBER IS SICK OR HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19?

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with COVID-19, immediately alert us and stay home. Please follow the CDC's recommendations if you're unwell or if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19. For the safety of children, families and faculty at Prep N' Play, anyone who shows signs of any of the following symptoms is REQUIRED to stay home for 72 hours after symptoms are gone or 14 days if COVID-19 positive:

  • Cough
  • Fever over 100 degrees
  • Flushed Cheeks / Rash
  • Difficulty / Rapid Breathing
  • Loss of taste and/or smell

A good hand washing can lower the risk of catching an illness by 80%. Our staff will be showing students how to properly wash by singing a jingle. Teachers will continue to wash their hands as well as the children's hands. However, we will be washing before and after the follwing: outside to inside transition, entering/ exiting a classroom, food prep, diaper changing, handling bodily fluids, cleaning, etc.

Families will be met at the front door where our administration will conduct a quick health screening to ensure your child does not have a fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or other flu-like symptoms. A designated teacher will take your child to and from the classroom. For pick-up, a teacher will bring your child to the door.

We have provided our staff with guidance and the best practices about wearing face coverings. Along with the CDC guidance, we will be following local health and state guidelines to ensure they’re compliant with health and safety orders. For example, it’s mandatory for our employees to be provided face coverings, which must be worn at all times while on-site.

We will practice social distancing in the classroom throughout the day such as; 2 children per table, nap and work mats placed 6 ft apart, spots for line up to go in and outside, etc. Your children will remain in the classroom or on the playground with their teachers and classmates. For added safety, different classes will not interact with one another, and all special events and visitors will be postponed until further notice.
